Pletenica is a braided bread that comes in various shapes and is made from enriched  leavened dough. Pletenice are known in most parts of Slovenia and prepared to regional recipes. They are baked on major calendar and personal holidays, and upon completion of certain works. Today, pletenice are a regular feature of ceremonial dinners and catering menus, and popular with tourists.
