Fieldwork during Carnival time 2024
During this year's Carnival days, the representatives of the Slovene Ethnographic Museum/Coordinator for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Culture Heritage in the field documented several carnival customs that took place in different places across Slovenia. The Škofja Loka Passion Play – first element of the intangible cultural heritage of Slovenia inscribed to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
On the 1th of December 2016 the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage adopted a decision to inscribe the Škofja Loka Passion Play to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
