Making Koroška rye bread

Koroška rye bread is made by housewives according to an old sourdough recipe. Even today, it plays an important role in the everyday and festive diet in Koroška. The sourdough is kept from one baking to the next. Their knowledge of making the bread is mostly passed down within families, from generation to generation.
