The Koroška rye bread is baked using a traditional sourdough bread recipe. Even today, it is a part of almost every meal in the Koroška region, including special occasions. A piece of the final sourdough is saved from one bake to another. The knowledge of bread-making is usually passed down within families, from one generation to the next.
