The Sorica dialect is a partially Slovenized Tyrolean (German) dialect, which is still spoken by only a few inhabitants of the upper part of the Selška Valley, descendants of German-speaking immigrants from the Tyrol from the 13th century, in Sorica, Danje and the neighboring villages below Ratitovec in the Municipality of Železniki.
