On September 27, 2024, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana and the Slovene Ethnographic Museum organized a round table in SEM in the Year of Heritage - Year of Inspiration! which was followed by a concert by the Cultural and Ethnomusicological Society Folk Slovenia.
At the round table, the word was about the musical and dance core of the intangible cultural heritage, care for their existence, how we understand music and dance as heritage, which is kept alive by the activities of singers, musicians, dancers and local communities . The participants also gathered their thoughts on the future of tradition and the advantages and limitations of recording and caring for intangible cultural heritage, as derived from current safeguarding legislation and international documents.
Marino Kranjac (president of KUD Folk Slovenia, musician and bearer of the Istrian tradition), Rebeka Kunej (GNI ZRC SAZU), Ljoba Jenče (House of Tradition), Svanibor Pettan (FF of the University of Ljubljana) and Nena Židov (SEM) took part in the conversation. The conversation was led by Rajko Muršič (OEIKA FF of the University of Ljubljana).
