The traditional breeding and raising of Lipizzan horses is aimed at classical dressage and carriage driving. Those involved in this activity include the Lipica Stud Farm and private breeders. 

Multinational nomination Lipizzan horse breeding traditions was on the 1. December 2022 listed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. 

The bearers of the element of the intangible cultural heritage are (2):
