Below you can find a short description of an element listed in the Slovene Register of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
Midwifery involves the special skills and knowledge required to assist women giving birth and their babies. It includes support and interventions during pregnancy, during and after the birth, with breastfeeding, and care of the infant. The aim is a successful outcome of the birth and a good start to family life.
The bearers (2) of the element of the intangible cultural heritage are:
1. The Nurses and Midwives Association of Slovenia, section of nurses and midwives,
2. Naravni začetki, Združenje za informiranje, svobodno izbiro in podporo na področju nosečnosti, poroda in starševstva.
