Bovec local dialect is part of the Soča Valley dialect. It is spoken from the Predel and Vršič passes across the Bovec basin to Srpenica. Due to geographic and historical circumstances, it contains numerous archaic features.
The element of the intangible cultural heritage has a lot of bearers who are, due to the large number, not being inscribed in the Register.
