Traditional beekeeping involves cultivating bees as a spare time and economic activity. Slovene beekeepers have a special way of building apiaries and caring for bees, as well as a strong professional association.
Nomination Beekeeping in Slovenia, a way of life, was on the 1. December 2022 listed on the UNESCO Representative List of intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The bearers of the element of the intangible cultural heritage are (2):
