Decorating eggs to celebrate šempav

Decorating eggs to mark the holiday known as šempav takes place on the first Sunday in May, when the women of Poljubinj and the area around it collect eggs, boil them, colour them red and decorate them with verses. The unique feature here is that this takes place outside Easter time.
