The exhibition on ICH from Slovenia on display in Cleveland

The Slovenian Museum and Archives Clevland is hosting an exhibition on the intangible cultural heritage of Slovenia from March 1 to the end of July 2025. The elements of the intangible cultural heritage presented in the exhibition have been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since the ratification of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003) by the Republic of Slovenia (2008) to this day.


The exhibition presents the following intangible cultural heritage elements with photographs, short descriptions and films: The Škofja Loka Passion Play, Door-to-door rounds of kurenti, Bobbin lacemaing in Slovenia, Art of dry stone walling, knowledge and techniques, Lipizzan horse breeding traditions, Beekeeping in Slovenia, a way of life and Midwifery: Knowledge, Skills and Practices.


The authors of the exhibition are Anja Jerin and Nena Židov, and it was created in cooperation with the Slovene Ethnographic Museum as the Coordinator for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Slovenian Museum and Archives in Cleveland.
