Slovenski etnografski muzej (Slovene Ethnographic Museum, SEM) is the oldest ethnographic institution in Slovenia, established 100 years ago, and leading Slovene national ethnological museum . We are museum “about people, for people, with people", a museum of cultural identities, a link between the past and the present.
Slovene ethnographic museum presents traditional culture as well as mass and pop culture in Slovenia and the diaspora, on non-European cultures, and on the material and intangible cultural heritage of both every day and festive life.
Opening hours
Open: Tuesday- Sunday: 10.00-18.00, Thursday: 10.00-20.00
Closed: Monday and holidays (1 January, Easter, 1 May, 25 June, 1 November, 25 December)
Free entrance every first Sunday in a month.

The Slovene Ethnographic Museum (SEM) is located in the immediate vicinity of the main bus and train station of Ljubljana.

The nearest bus stops of the city bus (LPP) are: Friškovec (2, 9, 12, 12D, 25, 27, 27K), Poliklinika (9,25) and Ilirska (5, N5).
